Osasuna routs Alaves 3-0 at El Sadar to close out 2025
Osasuna coach Alessio Lisci spoke to the media Friday in a press conference ahead of the team’s match against FC Barcelona on Saturday, Dec. 13 at 6:30 p.m. at Spotify Camp Nou. The Italian coach said: “I don’t buy into the idea that the important match is Alavés. Of course the Alavés match is important, but before that there is another game, and what we have to do is stay focused and try.”
He added: “It’s clear that everyone has lost there, but streaks are eventually broken, and we have to try and believe that we can do it.”
Lisci noted that Barcelona has many strengths and that “shutting them all down isn’t easy. You have to prioritize and try to bring them into the areas we want.” He added: “You have to do a lot of things well to control the game and, even then, they always create three or four clear chances against everyone. They have to miss, and we have to be accurate. A lot of things have to go our way. That’s why football is great, and we’re going to try.”
Regarding how the team has approached recent away matches against Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid, Lisci said “we’ve competed very well in those games so far.” He concluded: “It’s clear that when you play against those great teams the margin is very small. You can play well, have a bad day and they blow you away—or the opposite: you have a good day and you might pull off a surprise.”
